What do you all think about them Vikings?

The put a beat down on Lee High Tonight 41-7 Myron Pinkston is the biggest threat that PV has and his WR they were on there game tonight espically tre mullins and nathan baker. the first scroe came from a pass fromm Huff to Baker for 15 yards. the second TD came in teh second quarter by Myron Pinston on a QB scramble for 20 yards. the third score came on a five yard run by brian Rentfrow. and then the next one came from a 50 yard punt return by Travis Pippin. and finally the last TD came in the Fourth quarter when Dalton Tackett ran a 43 yard TD. we aas a team are going to have a great year this year espically out of Myron Pinkston, and Sophmore Jacob Huff, and the WR, but the person who stood out last night was the sophmore QB Jacob Huff he is a big threat in the pocket so teams need to keep there eyes open and be ready when PV comes into town

I don't know about a state ring, as much as I love PV. As surprising as it was that the score was that bad, it was the first game and it was Lee High. Not really a good way to measure how good PV will really be.

They have to get by Lebanon, Richlands, Harlan Co., Norton, Clintwood, and some of those teams to earn big bragging rights.

but PV sounded (listened on radio) really awesome. huge plays, big gains, and the D held firm when lee would drive close, then EXPLODED in the second half, their depth showing how much more dominant they were tonight.

lee has some chances, but they cant say they were the better team tonight, they showed some good signs, but they do need work, but PV sounded like they were just on fire, and couldnt be stopped.

Wow lets not put the cart before the horse. Vikings should be a tough team this year but week 1 is just that, week 1. Half of the teams are undefeated

Sounds like some big play potential, and definitely seems like PV is more like a typical PV team.

Is everybody in the LPD undefeated that has played so far? Thats a nice start at least.

State ring? A little early for that kind of talk!

I will say that I expected a closer score after last year went into overtime with no score from either team, but I don't exactly think Lee is overly stiff competition, either. When - and IF - Powell Valley soundly defeats Lebanon next week, then Richlands and Gate City and Burton and Clintwood in the upcoming weeks, we can start pondering about the possibilities of a deep run. But until then, it's way early IMO. I don't think Lee is the greatest team to make state title predictions after winning against. After all, they were shut out by both Kelly and Burton in the jamboree a couple weeks ago and have proved nothing to us since other than not being capable of winning or producing any type of threat.

Tyler Graham sounded tough but the thing is, from what I listened to, the offense couldn't finish the job most of the game and just ran into several brick walls.

Jacob Huff sounded impressive for a sophomore, even if it was against Lee High. He's gonna be a good player and I look forward to hearing more from him. After PV's opening possession, it sounded good. But for a little bit and from what I listened to, I was a little worried. Especially about the defense.

PV has an extremely tough next several weeks ahead of them. Lebanon, Richlands, Harlan County, Burton, and Clintwood one after the other. I think they can win but it sure as hell will not be easy.

PV sounded impressive for most of the game. However (no offense to Lee High) but this is exactly who it was against: Lee High. Most definitely not a football school.

Think Lee's going to have to have Graham playing mostly just on offense. He was out pretty quick there early when going mostly both ways. I liked the wrinkle in the offense early, certainly wasn't what anyone was expecting, and it worked at first..and that was it. PV tacked in on late and certainly played well. They made a statement early especially when they hit Graham...my first thought was "its on"..although I was expecting something in return from Lee...but... Great night for PV, bad night all around for Lee. I mean, heck, every botched snap, every fumble, every muffed punt...went right back to PV, three near picks for Lee...all hit the defenders in the hands....could not catch a break at all.

Congrats to the Vikings. Good luck the rest of the way.

Anybody know why pinkston had such limited playing time? The Kingsport Times mentioned a possible sprain ankle, when he was in the game he looked healthy. He was limited to mostly the second quarter and i did not see him on the sidelines or in the game the second half. Dose anybody know anything?

It was suppose to be because of an ankle problem, he was questionable coming into the game.

Until Lee got tired they were winning a lot of the battles at the line of scrimmage, PV still needs work on the line play.

On the other hand they seems to be pretty deep and talented at the skill positions. The line is still better than the last couple of years I believe. Their schedule is crazy tough, could be some interesting games there.
